Using Design Strategy to add Value to a Political Campaign
By: Lee Zelenak
At the onset of a project, the first question designers like to ask is: why? It seems like such a simple question and yet far too often it goes unanswered, or the answer is, 'Because we have always done it like this.' What has always attracted me to the concept of design strategy is that it provides a platform to help design better understood goals, objectives, and possibilities, while also providing tangible results showing better outcomes... Graphic Design Masters Theses
RISD’s graduate program in Graphic Design prepares students for professional practice by emphasizing the roles of social context, media and aesthetics in the production of visible language systems. As a reflection of the discipline itself, the program encourages a nimble and intelligent response to constant change and burgeoning technology, while building a strong foundation of formal, aesthetic and analytical knowledge.
Individual thesis investigation is central to the final year of MFA study and culminates in the comprehensive presentation of work representing an original voice for visual and verbal expression of design thinking. The thesis should be equal parts exploration, explanation, provocation and contribution. Guest critics participate throughout the year and in the year-end thesis review, which offers a forum for critical dialogue focused on each student’s contribution to the field of graphic design. All MFA candidates also submit a written thesis and as a group participate in the RISD Graduate Thesis Exhibition , a large-scale public show held annually.

9 Best Ideas for Your Graphic Design Dissertation
Whether you are a student or a practicing professional, graphics design requires you to be spontaneous. This means possessing the ability to come up with unique and original work when working on a client’s project or a graphic design thesis for your lecturer. It is one profession that relies entirely on creativity.
For your dissertation, you ought to have several graphic design topics to choose from. To make the right choice, review some graphic design thesis projects done by other students. Looking at these projects gives you an idea of what is expected of you and which topic suits you best.
Possible Ideas for your Graphic Design Thesis
When working on your dissertation, think of a topic that you can handle. Your paper should be not only interesting but also helpful to other designers. Are you clueless about what to write about in your graphic design dissertation? Check out the following list of suggested topics and pick the one you like.
1. Graphic design and commercial distinctiveness
Many companies, businesses, and organizations rely on graphics, visual analytics , and images to create a distinctive brand in the market. As a student in this profession, you can decide to research how graphic designing helps mold a business or company brand. Use practical and goal-oriented organizations that have created a brand using visuals successfully.
2. Gender and graphic design
For the longest time now, women have been fighting for equal chances in leadership, economic platforms, and politics. Many recognizable strides have been made towards ensuring there are equal chances for both genders in the world. As a graphics student, you can focus your dissertation on the role of women in the graphic design industry.
3. Graphics with a limited financial plan
This is one of the few graphic design research paper topics that have not been exploited extensively by students. There is a lot to write about this topic. You can explain why graphic designing is expensive and if it’s possible to work on a small-scale strategy. You can highlight a few strategies on how to save money in this profession if you like. It is a very flexible course.
4. 20th Century evolution of computer graphics
Among the easiest graphic design dissertation topics, you can choose from in UK is this. Back in college, I made a mistake of picking a challenging topic to look smart. I had to look for dissertation writing experts to write my dissertation for me in the UK because it became challenging at some point. If you put your mind to it, graphic design subjects have easy topics that only require you to research on the development journey of this profession. Try.

5. Role of graphic design in web design development
Computer graphics have had a crucial role to play as far as web design is concerned. As a student, you can focus your dissertation on the history of web designing and the role played by profession. For starters, you can highlight how and when the web design the field of study was introduced, then proceed to what interests you most.
6. Computer graphics and advertisement
Over the years, many companies and businesses have adopted the use of graphically motivated adverts to market their products and services. Over time, this has become an effective universal marketing strategy. You can examine how graphics help relay precise messages to targeted audiences.
7. Computer graphic designers
There are numerous graphic design dissertation examples on this topic. Computer design is a particularly wide topic that gives you the freedom to explore different subtopics. For instance, you can base your dissertation on the role played by designers, the impact they have had on the industry and what makes a graphic designer stand out from the rest of the pool.
8. Graphic design and colors
Graphic design is all about blending different colors and coming up with appealing and fascinating products. For such a research paper, you can write about why colors are important and how different colors relay different messages to consumers. If you are so good, you can get an excellent grade talking about some of the best and worst colors in graphics.
9. Trends in graphic design over the years
Dedicate your paper to examining the recent trends of graphics over the past one or two decades. Although this is quite a gamble, it might pay off just fine with an excellent grade since not many students have tackled this topic in the past. It is a trend that has grown over time. Dig.
Through my years in college, I never saw a reason for paying for my assignments or research papers. I don’t see a reason why you should pay for yours either, whether in the UK or any other part of the world. When writing your thesis, you can pick any of these graphic design dissertation topics and make a great paper out of it.
After all, creativity counts, right?

Graphic Design
Graphic design (mfa).
Program overview The graphic design program focuses on the development of a cohesive, investigative body of work, also known as the student’s thesis. At Yale, the graphic design thesis is conceived as a loose framework within which each student’s visual method is deployed across many diverse projects during the two-year course of study. While every thesis project is unique, there are several common features: a focus on methodology, the application of a visual method to studio work, and the organization of the work in a thoughtfully argued written document and “Thesis Book.”
The individual collection of graphic design work by each student is supported on several levels simultaneously: studio work led by faculty meeting weekly; small six-person thesis groups meeting biweekly; individual sessions with writing and editing tutors; and lectures, presentations, and workshops.
Facilities The School of Art provides digital lab facilities however all graphic design students are expected to have their own personal computer. Each student has a designated work space in the design studio loft and has access to equipment including bookbinding materials, wide format printers, a RISO duplicator, Vandercook press, and work spaces in the School of Art buildings. More resources supporting interdisciplinary projects including motion capture and VR is available at the nearby Center for Collaborative Arts and Media. In addition, students draw on the extraordinary resources of Yale University courses, conferences, films, lectures, and museums, and especially the extensive research and rare book collections of Sterling, Haas, and Beinecke libraries.
Two-year and preliminary-year programs Each year, up to ten students are admitted into the two-year graphic design program, and up to eight students are admitted into the preliminary-year program. Two-year program students typically have a BFA in Graphic Design and are expected to have substantial and distinguished professional experience. Students applying to the preliminary-year program typically have relevant experience in a field of study outside design and demonstrate evidence of strong visual acuity. After successful completion of the preliminary year, these students automatically continue on in the two-year M.F.A. program.

Graphic design: year 4, graphic design thesis.
DES480/481 GRAPHIC DESIGN THESIS offers senior graphic design students opportunity to engage in a year-long investigation into a guided, but self-directed research project. Students initiate and frame a complex design project, clarifying individual interests and strengths as they relate to professional aspirations. Applying knowledge and skills acquired in previous courses, students determine the final form of their thesis project, which may involve multimedia implementation. The senior thesis is exhibited in the Year End Show.

2-Year Program
The two-year MFA curriculum focuses on the advanced exploration of form, methodology and practice, informed by a consciousness of the following contexts: contemporary practice, craft, audience, theory and history, and the constantly shifting media environment. Individual critique within a communal studio structure helps designers to develop a personal direction and agenda, intended to influence work beyond graduate school. The first-year curriculum consists of a sequence of weekly seminars in which research and studio projects are examined and discussed. The second year in residence is dedicated to developing and realizing a major thesis project that contributes to—and challenges—the graphic design community at large.
In each of the two years, graduate students deepen and refine their work through a set of required and elective courses covering subjects such as type design, web design, typography, motion graphics, design theory and design history. Visiting designers who lead short-term projects are another important aspect of the CalArts program, which consciously seeks to broaden the types of experiences offered to students within the focused studio environment.
Two-year MFA graphic designers are required to pass a Thesis Review to complete the program and obtain the MFA degree.
3-Year Program
The three-year MFA in Graphic Design is designed for students who do not have a Graphic Design undergraduate degree, but who typically demonstrate a talent and enthusiasm for design, and a level of expertise in their given field. Three-year students have come from such diverse undergraduate backgrounds as photography, journalism, engineering, feminist studies, biology and film. The first year of the three-year MFA seeks to provide students with a broad set of graphic design skills that will equip them to successfully join the two-year MFA program. This first year is practical and direct. Students are exposed to a variety of formal, conceptual and process-based models, often using print media as the baseline for teaching these durable skills. After successful completion of the first year, three-year students carry on into the two-year MFA Program.
The heart of the Program is the Visual Literacy course, a critique class comprised of a series of structured projects designed to teach design principles, process, methodology and skills. Initially these projects isolate elements of design practice in order to master them (e.g., typography, imagemaking, composition, ideation), then as the year progresses students are increasingly called upon to create more complex designs, where they are responsible for all aspects of a project: concept, research, content and form.
Three-year MFA graphic designers are required to pass a Thesis Review to complete the program and obtain the MFA degree.

A graphic organizer (also referred to as a research matrix) is a valuable tool for compiling detailed notes during the research process. These note-taking systems can take a long time to assemble, so they’re geared toward long-term papers, such as graduate research or capstone projects. That being said, they are well worth the effort as they save time and effort when navigating themes, content, and theories across articles. Furthermore, these organization systems make it easy to quickly compile a bibliography as all the information is stored in one place.
Also known as research project graphic organizers, graphic organizers help students visually sort and outline information before, during, and after reading. Their visual nature helps students reduce cognitive load by creating a simple framework for organizing information. This allows students to focus on understanding the material instead of becoming overwhelmed with the details.
Kickstart, Your Research with Graphic Organizers
During the pre-reading stage, graphic organizers can be a brainstorming tool to activate prior knowledge and connect what students know with new information. For example, if a student is about to read a biography on Rosa Parks, a graphic organizer can help them sort out what they know about the civil rights movement before reading.
Dig In While You Read
During the reading stage, graphic organizers can help students arrange pertinent information, facilitating learning by highlighting links among concepts. Continuing with Rosa Parks' biography example, as the students read, they can use a graphic organizer to help them sort details about her life, her role in the civil rights movement, and the broader historical context.
Reflect and Consolidate What You've Learned
In the post-reading stage, graphic organizers can assess comprehension, recall pertinent information, summarize main ideas, and maintain the content learned. After finishing the biography, the students could use a graphic organizer to help them reflect on what they learned about Rosa Parks and the civil rights movement.

1. Venn Diagrams: Understanding Relationships and Differences
Venn diagrams help readers grasp the relationships between various concepts. Venn diagrams use two or more overlapping circles to show the similarities and differences between each idea. The areas where the circles overlap display the traits that the ideas have in common, while the individual sections of each circle illustrate the unique characteristics of each concept.
2. Series of Events Chains: Sequencing Events
A series of events graphic organizer helps students visualize the order of events in a story or passage. This type of organizer has a simple format that can be adapted for any length. Events are written chronologically to show how they relate to one another. This helps illustrate the continuous movement of the narrative.
3. Concept Maps: Branching Out from a Central Idea
A concept map, or spider map, helps students visually display what they know about a topic before, during, and after a reading or research project. This graphic organizer has a central idea in the middle, with other relevant information supporting the topic branching out. The more detailed a concept map gets, the better students understand the relationship between the ideas and how they connect to the main topic.
4. Story Maps: Breaking Down Fiction
A story map helps students visually display crucial information related to components of a story before, during, and after reading. This type of graphic organizer helps students break down the character(s), setting, and problem. This enables readers to comprehend the narrative better and summarize the plot.
5. Network Tree Maps: Organizing Information
A network treemap has a main idea at the top with subtopics underneath. As students learn about the different concepts, they can fill in the tree map to show their understanding of how the information is organized. This type of graphic organizer works well for helping students prepare for writing assignments and research projects.
6. Fishbone Maps: Analyzing Causes and Effects
A fishbone graphic organizer helps students visualize the interaction and relationship of a complex event and its effects. The “bones” of the fish represent the different causes of a specific problem, while the “head” of the fish illustrates the main issue. This type of organizer enables students to break down complex information to analyze it and better understand the content.
7. Problem Solution Maps: Summarizing Text
Problem solution maps help students summarize text, identify the problems within the text, recognize solutions used to solve the problem, and interpret the results. This type of graphic organizer is helpful for expository and narrative texts.

Graphic organizers help students systematically arrange and visually display information while researching to help them identify, study, and understand the relationships between the parts and the whole. A research project graphic organizer can help students visualize the components of a research project and what they’ll need to do before, during, and after the research process.
For example, a T-chart can help students break down the differences between two topics before selecting one for a research project. Venn diagrams can also help students identify similarities and differences between two topics. Research project graphic organizers can also be utilized as a planning tool to help students organize their thoughts before they begin writing their research papers.
For instance, a research project graphic organizer can help students identify their research questions, organize their findings, and visually display how their research will address the paper's topics and subtopics.
Using AI Tools to Create Graphic Organizers for Research Projects
Artificial intelligence tools can help students create research project graphic organizers. First, students can select the graphic organizer they want to make, such as a T-chart or Venn diagram. Next, they can use prompts to help the AI generate content for their organizers. The results can be used to help fill in the graphic organizers and provide structure to their research.

Hi I'm planing to travel from mormansk to Norway trough stoskog border can I get taxi from airport to get stoskog border.thanks
Please look for a bus/taxi/transfer from Murmansk to Kirkenes. I doubt you can get a taxi to the border point only, as I suspect theis border to be opend for passengers, but not to pedestrians. An ordinary taxi driver will need a border area permission or Norway visa to reach border point. Any major hotel in Murmansk knows details - talk to them as well.
Thanks for information 😊
Do you know if this rute open in end of November?as I guess lots of snow should fall by that time?
I don't know what you have been reading but snow doesn't stop life from going on, neither in Russia nor in Norway. We know how to deal with snow. All roads are open year round.
Surely for us in uk this much snow is unusual...
And for us here it's an everyday reality for half each year.
